Lighter and lighter
lately I've dropped a few things

Lighter and Lighter
Lately:
i’ve dropped a few things
shoulds
oughts
labels
obligation
ownership
yesterday’s encroachment
tomorrow’s predicament
opinion
analysis
(gin)
habitual responses
rushing
thinking i’m in control
the veil
sometimes I have picked up those things once again
without noticing
(so used, am i to carrying them).
But then I notice the load on my body
and just like that I drop something again.
alternatively I put it in a weighty bag
and carry it round
walking lop-sided
breathing shallow
waking at 3.
tripping up over the nonsense
- until I listen in and remember the veil the self often wears
to dance under
until it’s too weighty.
Its divestment is lightenment
and the dropping begins again.
lighter and lighter
Lately: i have dropped a few things
loosened the grip
watched
and joined with something
much, much lighter
and danced with the veil,
peaking through its threads
Lately: i have dropped the veil
and that was the weight.

The ‘lighter and lighter’ really speaks to me. Because isn’t that what we all want. And the beautiful thing is you can just keep going (once you get the hang of it) and repeat.
Love the veil symbolism and how freeing this poem is
